Detail: Back

This tiny but elegant sculpture in gilded copper depicts an attending Bodhisattva figure holding in his left hand the stem of a lotus while over his left shoulder he holds a fly-whisk, or chauri. He likely stood on the right side (viewer's) of a Buddha, and may be intended for Padampani, the holder of the lotus.
